Italian women's clothing maker Lazzari started carrying my hand brooches in their brick and mortar store last year. The brooches paired perfectly with the brand's quirky, candy-colored collection full of whimsical details (hello, eyelash collar tips). Now the brand has reproduced the hands in metal for two collaborative Lazzari x Jordan Grace Owens bags.
Each leather bag (choose from one hand or two) comes in five beautiful colors, all handmade in Italy.
The bags are part of Lazarri's S/S 2015 collection. Scoop them up!

It's a real bummer when people steal, alter, and post your work around without credit. An unsanctioned version of one of my drawings has been making the rounds across Tumblr and Instagram recently. It came to my attention when dozens of considerate people started tagging and crediting me. But the drawing included text that's not mine, that doesn't represent my feelings about the drawing, and that is not a design choice I would have made. So, just for the record:
Please guys, don't add your own touch to someone else's work. And when you share something you like, you should credit the artist. I know it's a hard habit to keep up (I'm definitely guilty) since Pinterest and Tumblr make it super easy to repost without thinking about whether the image links back to its original source. But the internet would be a much more artist- and maker-friendly place if we all tried to do our part.

New Year, New Blog
Along with plans and resolutions, I'm welcoming 2015 with a reflection of the year gone by. Here's a round up of some of my favorite portrait commissions from 2014. Thank you to all my lovely clients who have trusted me to illustrate their wedding invitations, anniversary gifts, family portraits, and holiday cards. I'm looking forward to sharing lots of new work here in 2015. Happy New Year, Everybody!
